Dr. Tasha Shamlin and Dr. Kenyatta Shamlin-Haynes have purchased an office building on Picardy Avenue in the Baton Rouge Health District. The sisters bought the building for $1.5 million from KAJ Properties.

The doctors plan to relocate their current medical practice and wellness spa, The Medical Wellness Spa of Baton Rouge, to the new location and also open a new practice. Before the opening of their practice, Louisiana Internal medicine and Pediatric Associates, on September 1st, the sisters plan to renovate the 9,200-square foot building.

The Medical Wellness Spa of Baton Rouge will relocate to the new site from Towne Center in January. Both practices will operate in the same building in the heart of the Baton Rouge Health District.

“I think people get to a certain point in their career where it’s time for the next step, and I think the next step for us is owning our own practice,” Dr. Tasha Shamilin says. “Putting the two in the same building continues to build a brand of wellness that we are promoting.”
